📌 Who Can Apply?

International students (non-Singapore Citizens and non-Permanent Residents) who wish to join Primary 2 to 5 or Secondary 1 to 3 in a Singapore government school.

Applicants must not be enrolled in a Singapore local school at the time of application.

📌 Age Eligibility (As of 1 January of the Admission Year)

Primary 2: 7 to 9 years old

Primary 3: 8 to 10 years old

Primary 4: 9 to 11 years old

Primary 5: 10 to 12 years old

Secondary 1: 12 to 14 years old

Secondary 2: 13 to 15 years old

Secondary 3: 14 to 16 years old

Primary Level: English & Mathematics

📌 Test Format

Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and open-ended questions.

The syllabus is based on MOE’s mainstream curriculum, with a strong emphasis on English and Mathematics.

📌 Application Process

Apply Online – Submit your application through the MOE AEIS Portal within the registration period.

Pay the Application Fee – Fees vary depending on the level applied for.

Receive Test Details – Applicants will receive an admission letter with test date, time, and venue.

Take the AEIS Test – The test is conducted in Singapore.

Await Results – Results will be released via email. Successful applicants will be assigned a school based on available vacancies.

📌 Key Deadlines

AEIS is usually held in September or October each year.

S-AEIS (Supplementary AEIS) is conducted in February or March for those who missed the main AEIS.

📌 Important Notes

There is no guarantee of placement, as admission depends on test performance and school vacancies.

AEIS does not cover Primary 1 and Secondary 4 or 5 admissions.

Applicants should prepare well in advance, as competition for places is high.
